For Father's Day, Inna and I took a leisurely stroll around Vasona Lake, followed by lunch at Oren's Hummus in downtown Los Gatos.
I was still sore from Saturday's wing-foiling session at Sherman Island. Although Sunday promised excellent wind, I needed to rest my arms and shoulders.
After we finished the excellent walk around Vasona Lake, Inna drove to Los Gatos (in the Tesla Model Y), trying to avoid the crazy traffic heading to Santa Cruz. She found a parking spot a few blocks from Main Street to avoid the crazy traffic.
We sat down at Oren's Hummus and ordered our entrees. Alex was driving over to join us but ran into traffic. We ordered the following items:
- Appetizer: Quick-fried Cauliflower Florets
- Boris: Hummus Lamb with cucumber/carrots, Iced Tea
- Inna: Hummus Beef with cucumber/carrots, Iced Tea
- Alex: Hummus Lamb with white pita bread, Iced Tea
After lunch, we stopped by the Los Gatos Apple Store. I decided to upgrade my iPhone 11 to a newer model. I looked at iPhone14, iPhone14 Plus, iPhone14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Alex and Inna thought I should purchase the iPhone 14 Pro Max due to the better display and camera.
I traded my iPhone 11 for $200 credit and purchased the iPhone 14 Pro Max (despite knowing that the iPhone 15 with USB-C is just a few months
away).
Since the Apple Store does not support Google Fi, I had to return home before restoring from backup and activating my new iPhone 14 Pro Max. There was much to update on the phone, especially all the logins. Since the new iPhone 14 does not have a SIM card slot, I had to ask for an Esim activation from Google.
At around 18:00, I decided to practice tennis and reserved tennis court #5 at Almaden Valley Athletic Club. I played for 75 minutes. My forehand and backhand seemed consistent, but my serve still needs additional practice.
When I returned, I was surprised to see Alex grilling a steak on the grill. It took him some time to figure out the Weber Grill, but the steak turned out delicious.
