Overall: 2 out of 5 (one of the worst pop concerts, but better than Shakira)
Positives
- Laura has an excellent singing voice and has the potential for a beautiful concert
- The concert started on time (unlike Shakira)
- I really liked "Take Me Home, Country Roads," "Adagio," and "Je T'aime"
- The acoustics at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts were quite respectable
- The concert was not overwhelmingly loud (unlike most pop concerts tend to be)
- Laura had practically no band - where are the drummers, bass players, guitar players? Drumming and bass were being rendered by a drum machine. It sounded so amateurish.
- A Grand Piano would have sounded much better for most slow ballads and songs than an electronic synthesizer.
- For faster, up-tempo songs, dancers would have been preferred to entertain and engage the audience.
- I would have preferred more English-speaking songs
- Special effects were kind of cheesy
- The three chorus girls did not show much enthusiasm
- The concert felt like it had low-energy
