Strolling through Salzburg

After finishing touring Schloss Hellbrunn, we drove to nearby Salzburg, parking close to downtown. Since we were famished, we decided to look for a nearby restaurant while strolling through the main street in downtown Salzburg - Residentzplatz.

After reviewing the Yelp review, we settled on the well-rated Zwettler's restaurant. Inna ordered the "Chicken Weiner Schnitzel," while I selected the Austrian specialty of "Grilled Potatoes and Beef."

Since it was boiling,  I also enjoyed the cold 0.5-liter Karl Kaiser beer (which Alex and Inna also tried and liked). Inna liked the beer so much that she ordered a 0.5-liter glass for herself!

Alex had the Grilled Meat (Grillteller) entree.

After lunch, we visited the famous "Dom du Salzburg" cathedral. While built in only 14 years, it looked magnificent inside ( without the painted glass windows reminiscent of most Italian Duomos). On the outside, however, it is plain and uninviting.

While Inn and Alex enjoyed an iced coffee and delicious cakes at Café Tomaselli, I visited Mozart's birthplace (Geburt Haus). It had little to display but some knick-knacks, original scores, letters, and musical instruments.

I was intrigued by the large and narrow piano/harpsichord on display. There was nothing else for us to do at Salzburg; we were too hot and exhausted to walk more.

While I enjoyed touring Mozart's House, Inna, and Alex relaxed at Cafe Tomaselli with coffee and cake.

On returning to Dorfgastein, I stopped by the Palfner Tanskstell to fill the Nissan Qashqai. It cost me $58.57 for 40 liters of 95-octane supreme gasoline (1.15 euros per liter).

Returning to our rented room in Dorfgastein, we enjoyed the highly-rated baths nearby.
