For Alex's 15th birthday, we decided to surprise Alex with presents and activities.
Since he has not been playing the PlayStation 4 recently, I decided to treat him to two PS4 games: Bioshock - The Collection (3 separate games) and Horizon Zero Dawn.
Inna surprised Alex with a new family activity - an escape room. She reserved an exciting escape room in downtown San Jose, and we drove there at 10:15 a.m. to start our escape.
In the escape room, we were paired with 6 other people and locked inside, with the job of finding clues to find the correct way out. This was an exciting time machine room, so there were many puzzles and items to find.
We were close to escaping on time but didn't quite succeed. Only 60 minutes were allowed for our escape, and we didn't have enough time. Afterward, we headed to Oren's Hummus Shop in Mountain View for a delicious lunch of hummus (Alex's favorite).
We purchased an expensive birthday cake and some candles from one of our favorite Fleur de Cocoa Los Gatos Bakery for dinner. Alex really enjoyed the cake, but it was pretty heavy.
